Features of the procedure
The main Pizhichil treatment begins with pouring warm oil over the head and body in a steady, continuous stream. The blend of Ayurvedic oils and herbs depends on the patient’s health condition and is selected individually by a doctor. This treatment can be performed on the entire body or on specific parts of it. The massage is performed while the patient is seated, lying on their stomach, on their back, on their right side, and then on their left side. Two massage therapists perform the procedure. Approximately three to four liters of warm Ayurvedic oil are required for a single session.
