Features of the procedure
During a consultation with an Ayurvedic specialist, a blend of Ayurvedic herbs is selected based on the individual’s constitution and physical condition. Therapeutic oil is applied to the head and body. The body is then massaged with warm linen pouches dipped in a mixture of warm milk and herbal decoctions. The procedure is performed in seven different positions. At the end, a light massage with warm therapeutic oil is performed once more. Njavarakizhi relieves skin stiffness, sharpens the senses, calms the Vata dosha, and strengthens the nervous system.
